Swami's is named after the Indian saint who brought the common Yoga practice to the Western World. However, this beach is perhaps more well known for being one of the best surf spots in the world. Pete Watters, who has lived in many exotic places of the world, told me he moved to Encinitas because it reminded him of the most beautiful place he had ever seen in New Zealand.
